Drug Facilitated Assault

Definition:  Assault that occurs by the perpetrator utilizing a drug to sedate or incapacitate the victim in order to sexually assault them.  Common forms of date rape drugs are ketamine, ecstasy, prescription drugs, alcohol, and illegal drugs such as marijuana, crack cocaine, or methamphetamine.

Behavioral Signs

  • Dizziness
  • Confusion
  • Hallucinations
  • Agitation
  • Disorientation
  • Impaired motor skills
  • High blood pressure
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Depression
  • Potentially fatal respiratory failure
