Strategic Plan Update
The Healing Place Board of Directors updated the strategic plan of the agency in 2011-12. The former strategic plan guided the agency for the past five years and members of the board hope the new plan will lead them into 2013-14.
Executive Director, Angie Alley, reports that one of the assumptions of the previous plan was that the agency would experience an increase of 25% in the need for services, when in fact, the agency has experienced a 90% increase over the past five years.
The Board of Directors identified the three following goals for the 2012-13 fiscal year:
- Negotiate a new lease on the current space at 100B Chadwick Square Court, Hendersonville, NC
- Consider expanding the agency mission to include other violent crimes by December, 2012. If concluded the agency should expand, apply for GCC Underserved Funding in January, 2013 and develop a marketing plan by June, 2013 to educate the community.
- Hold a successful fundraising luncheon in April, 2013 that can become the agency’s signature event to be duplicated year after year.
